Jeff Rinaldo was the Vice President and founder of Buffalo Protection & Investigation, Inc. Jeff has been performing security work for over 30 years. Starting his security career with a local firm, Mr. Rinaldo went on to become a partner with a Western New York security company, before starting Buffalo PI. As founder of BPI, Mr. Rinaldo ran a successful private investigation business in the Western and Central New York regions, before expanding into the security industry. BPI grew to be the largest event security company in Western New York also providing security services to several industries.

Mr. Rinaldo retired as a Captain with the Buffalo Police Department and served as the Chief of Staff and the commander of the crisis management team. As a Mayor’s Award recipient, Mr. Rinaldo has also received commendations from the Buffalo City Common Council and the Federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. Additionally, Mr. Rinaldo is a New York State certified Police Instructor, where he still teaches a variety of topics for both the Erie County Law Enforcement Training Academy as well as the New York State Chiefs of Police Association. Prior to being promoted to the rank of Captain, Mr. Rinaldo was Lieutenant for 5 years, a Detective for 4 years and for 4 ½ years before that he was a Community Police Officer, which included duties of helping resolve neighborhood crime issues, consulted businesses on their security plans and developed strategies to help residences and businesses of the City of Buffalo strengthen their communities. Jeff attended Canisius College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in sociology / anthropology and a certificate in criminal justice.
